Afghanistan - it had to be the first thread

Just to start this topic off, who thinks bombing Afghanistan and replacing the Taliban with a different bunch of thugs is going to have any permanent and positive impact on ending terror?

So far I think they are doing a great job. It wasn't what I would have expected after such a shocking turn of events.

Will it put an end to terrorism? I doubt it!:(

Positive impact? Yes. Permenant and lasting? Probably not. Heck, the U.S. thought that supporting bin Laden was a good idea years ago - who knows what the next recepient of our money and training will turn out like.:(

Unfortunately, there really is no way to completely stop terrorism. There will always be someone out there with a twisted religious view that thinks killing themselves - and taking others with them for "the cause" - is their ticket to heaven.:( Is there anything that can be done to deter that kind of thinking? I doubt it....

That being said, I do believe the U.S. and our allies are doing an excellent job. Terrorist acts, especially when as serious as the recent ones, cannot go unanswered. There must be a serious consequence for terrorists and those that are connected to them. Doing nothing will not result in the United States being spared from further attacks - we will always be a target.:(

Don't get me wrong here i don't take sides but how is bombing power stations and other places in Kabul goin got slove terrorism issues? that contry doesnt have enough money to build proper things let alone conjure up such an expensive and time consuming not to mention evil act of that Sep 11. I also am not 100% convinced that Osama Bin Laden is the one behind Sep11. I'm not saying he isn't but where the Sufficient evidence that fully backs up these rumours. I could be wrong, but I also could be right that Bin Laden was just a skape goat and a reason to attack.
