I am thinking about getting a sunroof fitted to the VX Berlina and want to know if the aftermarket ones are any good, I have heard stories about them leaking water and wind noise etc.

Does anyone know anything about them? the good the bad and the ugly? Also I want one that is able to be shut out so that sun doesnt shine through all the time and it will be electric operated also.

Any info about them and what sort of cost would be appreciated.

If you do go with an aftermarket make sure you check out the company doing it. Some will do it and dont care if you have leaks or not. Also check out other peoples cars that have had it done if you can. Good way to see the workmanship of the install.

Find who installs Hollandia(sp) in your area. Not cheap but very good roofs. As used by OEM.

I have a Webasto Hollandia integrated tilt and slide sunroof in my EL Wagon - they do make some wind noise on the highway...but otherwise they'e great I reckon - letting more *real* light into the cabin is always good IMO =)

Not a big fan of sunroof's - had a leaky one before - which sucked. Altho, if the new one leaks, I can suggest a handy solution ( my dad employed this on one of my cars ( gee thanks dad )). Simply drill a hole in the floor - Water in -> Water out !

PM HOTDBZ he had one installed about 2 months ago had a look when he came to the portsea cruise looked very neat and no complaints from him as far as i know.

I had a Hollandia roof fitted in both my EB S pack Wagon and EF Fairmont Wagon, you cant go wrong with them, damn good sunroofs, never leaked, wind noise isnt bad, no worse than my factory roof in my TS50 or the factory roof in my wifes MAZDA 626. I think basically only the good installers have access to Hollandia roofs, so I dont think you will dissapointed. I have had sunroofs for more han 10 yrs now, dont think i would like to go without one anymore

There was an article in Perth Street Car Vol 10 No 4 of a BA XR6 getting fitted with a sunroof from Prestige Sunroofs WA. Looks like they do a good job and they are an authorized HSV & Holden By Design service department.
