Thumbs down age power war article

I fully expect this to make the electronic version later today, but it appears Davids comments on the concept ute angered HSV and in particular a guy call Cris Payne.

I typical style Hsv claim sour grapes and point to the sales of 2500 HSVs to ford 100 or so sales of Tickford cars.

Well HSV would want to outsell FTE, they have about ten models at least, compared to FTE's three. Four if you count Cougar.

I have not seen the article, but did David have any critisism of the new VW concept coupe? or the new Bugatti W16? Both of which have much greater power outputs than any local car ever produced ...

C'mon - the last time these carws were killed off was because of a media beat up. Why are people feeding the fire?

No the article wasn't like that. I think drive.com will run it.

Basically I think David claimed the 350kw concept was scary.

Holden hit back with some crap about being shown up at the SMS.

Media sensation at its best.

And no no mention was made of the dedicated performance models you talk of. David was offered the chance to comment further but declined except to repeat his point of view

I do not see what the issue is with a concept car ... didn't Ford have a 350kw Falcon show car on it's stand last year?

Yeah I don't know what the story is but I don't think it is the power rating but more to do with the type of concept the power figure was shown in.

I think you are talking about the 300+ coupe? It was only rated about 310fwkw.

HSV models that I am aware of are:
XU6
Clubsport
Senator
Grange
Maloo
GTS
SV300 (is this a Senator by a different name, more kw?)
Also available Clubsport R8 & Maloo R8

I notice also that "Performance Breaks" are available as an option on Maloo!:D
