and after everyone else has handed out their much publicised "car of the year" awards, drive come along with their gongs.
As well as not being able to go to this site anymore and not be confronted with a host of Holden adds, as well as the much talked about "new" format...which we all hate, I notice a trend in the award winners.
What do we think about this eh!

You have to remember some of the other fine car of the years we have been subjected to eg P76 , Camira need I go on.
There is a definate bias remember when the XA & the ground breaking XD were released Wheels didn't give an award because they new it would be a Ford

hey guys, I recall reading in a paper a few months back, that said that the XD was the best Aussie car of the '70s, mainly due to its advances in design, and it "Forced Holden to lift its game with the Commodore". It didnt mention any Holdens, except for the FX.

Seen all those Falcons running around with Australian Design Award stickers on rear windows? Falcon's heritage is there, But Holden have bought their way into people's hearts. I guess that Money $peaks. However, If the AV is as good as its gonna be, Crumpledore resale values are gonna fall through the floor, if theyre flogging 70,000 a year, and they all fall apart in five or so years. People will be looking for a new(er), Better Built car to drive - Falcon.

Yes it sure looks like a joke but the public aren't laughing. They're beleiving what they are seeing and thinking that if it's Holden, it's got to be a good thing and nothing else is up to it. Makes me sick.
And if the trend of yesteryear continues, I'm guessing that next years awards will be withheld because the AV is going to be that good they'll have to give it to Ford...and they wouldn't want that now would they!:dead:
