Well I've just had 5 hours sleep after sitting in a computer room for 36 hours straight.

Why do hard drives have to fail? And why can't people before you setup raid5 properly on a server.

I can tell you that there is nothing on tv in the early hours of the morning worth watching.

I will see how long this stint will go for. I am aiming to be home sometime tonight, but things don't look good at the moment.

I am seeing plenty of pink elephants around from lack of sleep.
At least it's raining outside so I'm not missing out on anything.

Ah, yes... I can remember my all-nighter when me and a colleague had to rebuild an Exchange 5.5 server. We needed to change the Organisation name so we had to export around 80 mailboxes to .pst files, blow away the server, set it up with the correct Org name, recreate all the mailboxes and then import all the .pst's to the appropriate mailbox.

That was only a 20 hour marathon. Nothing compared to your's though!

Well all went well in the end.
After going home and having 3 hours sleep, I spent the next 8 working on the problem and got it fixed.
Don't try restoring an sql 6.5 database using arcserve unless you have been shown.

By the way - to my amazement, Microsoft offered us free support to a certain level which was much better than Computer Associates!
