almoast a year

well were almoast to the first anniversary of the terrorist attacks on america and i would like to share a song that my band wrote about the attacks, we performed this at my schools 2002 talent quest.

Calm autumn Day.

"This song is dedicated to all the people who were killed or injured as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11 2001"

On a calm autumn day
So many lives were taken
On a calm autumn day
So many cried in pain
On that calm autumn day
The world changed forever

You see their pain in their eyes
You see their pain when they cry
You see their pain everyday
You see their pain in their eyes (chorus)
You see their pain when they cry
You see their pain everyday

And they wept for the dead
When those visions in their head
Would not go away
Living empty nightmares everyday
When the war that followed
Would not go away

You see their pain in their eyes
You see their pain when they cry
You see their pain everyday
You see their pain in their eyes (chorus)
You see their pain when they cry
You see their pain everyday

On a calm autumn day
So many lives were taken
On a calm autumn day
So many cried in pain
On that calm autumn day
The world changed forever

You see their pain in their eyes
You see their pain when they cry
You see their pain everyday
You see their pain in their eyes (chorus)
You see their pain when they cry
You see their pain everyday

That's a nice song.

Now I want t oKnow where everyone was when it was happening.
I was In bed, Listening to the radio, when I heard that the WTC had been hit. At that stage, they though that it was just a light aircraft that took a wrong turn. I got up, turned the TV on, and was plastered to it for four hours. I couldn't sleep for the rest of the night, so I looged onto the net. Optus was down. Figures.
When the second plane hit, I heard hysterical screaming from the house over he road.
Watching that, knowing that you could not do anything to help, seeing the people jump... It was on of the most horrible nights I've ever been through. :shakeshead:
I hope this kind of thing NEVER happens again.

There's another thread here -> http://discussions.fordforums.com/sh...threadid=22980

Well myself and a colleague were on a business trip to Tokyo at the time to set up and configure a few servers. In fact we arrived in Tokyo on Sept 11, but remember that we are 1 day ahead of the Yanks. There was a typhoon blowing when we arrived and we almost didn't make it from the taxi to the front door of our building. But I digress...

The next morning, Wed, Sept 12, my colleague met me outside my door and asked if I've been watching the news the night before or that morning. I hadn't because I was tired from the flight and the day at the office so I just went to bed after returning to my room. So he picked up the complimentary copy of USA Today and handed it to me. On the front page there was a photo of the twin towers with smoke billowing out of them. The caption said it was a still from the video footage taken. It took me about 5 reads of the article for it to sink in. I wish I'd kept that newspaper now. Then in the office when I'd get time I'd check the news sites for updates, and in the hotel each night and morning I'd be glued to the CNN channel.

On the way home from Tokyo I had to visit China for 2 days to talk to their network guys about stuff and I was terrified. I just wanted to get home. My colleague had to visit Korea to speak to their network guys and then go on to Cary, North Carolina, USA where our HQ is but needless to say, that part of his trip was cancelled.

Tell you what, I was glad when I touched down back in Sydney!

Great Song, even though i don't know the tune...

Where was I? - Asleep, then mum woke me (I am 15 years old)screaming at me to get up, I knew something bad had happened, I stumbled to the living room where Mum, Dad and my elder Brother were staring at the tele in disbelief, I then joined them.
