Amercian brew wins top beer award
From the SMH
An American beer has taken out this year's top honour at the Australian International Beer Awards in Melbourne.
The Boston Beer Company's Samuel Adams Double Bock - a German-style lager with 8.5 per cent alcohol - won the event at the Royal Melbourne Showgrounds last night.
The beer won out over 421 other beers from 19 different countries.
But those hoping to sample the award-winning brew may have to travel, as it is not widely available in Australia.
The best-placed Australian beer was a pale ale produced by the Little Creatures beer company in Fremantle in Western Australia.
A new award this year, the Premier's Trophy for the best beer brewed and packaged in Victoria, went to Moonshine, produced by the Grand Ridge Brewery at Mirboo North in Gippsland.
Is this where Laminge has been tha past few days?!
