I know this is getting into abit of computer hippie talk, but i was bored tonite and started looking at downloading an Amiga emulator for abit of fun.
I've played around with Sega Emulators in the past like Kgen and massage. They seem to be pretty authentic par a few games.
What i'd like to know is whats the best Amiga emu around?
I've read abit about WinUAE but thats it.

I've got a PC cd with all the old games on it (around 600 of them). It uses a program called mame 32. It contains all the old favorites, hyper olympics, frogger, space invaders, ghosts and goblins it even asks you to insert coins as it uses the software straight from the old machines.

Mame is sweet !!!!
Ive only got about 10 games for mame, just the ones I loved playing in the arcades !
As for Amiga emulators, WinUAE is the best for windows.
The emulation is pretty much perfect, but you need a kickstart Rom to do most things with it.
If you have an amiga, then I am legally allowed to give you the Kickstart Rom(s).:s2: I have Kickstart 1.3.3, and Kickstart 3.0
Emulation for WinUAE is very close to 100%, and even supports configurations that were never even dreamt of during amiga times ! (The amiga OS could fit on 1 Floppy, and a 40Mb Hard drive was absolutely HUGE !! - 1Mb of Ram was the norm)
Some of the games you will want to get for it include
Any games made by Psygnosis (These games sold the amiga !)
Any games made by Cinamaware (Again, very sweet games)
Xennon 2 - (Very funky intro music !!!)
Skid marks, IK+, Stunt Driver, Zak McKraken, etc etc.
Bah!! No damn Amiga emulators here mate.. only the finest reside on this machine - Apple IIE!!!!!!
:s6: :s6: :s6:
Some old favourites :
* Conan The Barbarian
* Choplifter
* Castle Wolfenstein & Beyond Castle Wolfenstein
* Aztec
* Spy Hunter
* Lode Runner
* Frogger
* Karateka
* Bruce Lee
* Moon Patrol
... the list goes on and on!! A string of all time classics..

Yeap there some of the games i had in mind that i wouldn't mind playign again. Another Amiga game i like was RVF Honda(motorcycle game).
Apparently Mircoprose did make an Amiga version wouldn't mind playing that game as i want to see how different it is from the PC version.

Having said that, I envy you for still having your Amiga 500. I sold mine ages ago to fund my 486 project many years ago. Gee I wish I still had it. I still reckon the Amigas were the best computers ever made.
