Another Ford recall
FORD RECALLS POPULAR MONDEO IN EUROPE
Citing possible corroding and failure of cruise-control systems, Ford of
Europe is recalling about 28,000 Mondeo sedans for inspection. Of the
28,000
built in the company's Genk, Belgium, about 20,000 have been sold. "The
cruise control unit wasn't properly sealed and isn't fully resistant to
water, which may cause corrosion," a company spokesperson said, adding
that
no accidents or injuries have been reported. The recall is the latest in a
spat of quality-related setbacks Ford has faced, the latest being the
production halt of the Lincoln LS and 2002 Ford Thunderbird, cars that
share
some components and are built in the company's Wixom, Mich., plant.
