In W.A, those kodak moments will be sent too you. If you don't identify the driver,or pay the fine , you will be fined. The fine ? 1st offence $1200, 2cnd offence $2400. Companies $5000. In the press release, Govt states " it is not about revenue raising" @#%& BS. YES IT IS. !!!
Ive alwasy wondered what happens to hire car companies who are fined due to a driver who has since left the country - or in all honesty, they cant identify the driver.
This sounds like less of a traffic related offence, as much as a civil offence for not paying fines.
Its just like that you can be sent to jail if you don't pay parking fines and rack up enough. Your not being locked up for speeding, just for not coughing up.
I'd continue worrying about the speed camera's and their fines, and not about this . . .
Well this is nothing new
If an offence is committed in a company owned vehicle, and notice is sent to the company.
The company must nominate who was driving the car at the time. If they refuse to, or cannot, it is a $600 penalty issued to the company.
At least thats the way its been in Vic for a few years at least

Its fun in Europe! At least when you have a German hire car!
The German rules dont care what you do in other countries so ignore your fines from them (like in my instance, a couple from Italy) and tell you "not to worry about it, dont pay it!!" We were going to pay them, oh well :-D so of course didnt! thats pretty cool!

You own a knife which is subsequently found to be involved in a stabbing. Since when can they arrest you just for owning the knife? They of course must prove it was you who stabbed the victim but if you don't know they can't force you to take the punishment.
Unless you're a motorist in which case you're fair game.

Well to be honest, its not too hard to work out who was driving a car at the time for a company.
Anyone who has a company car, but dosnt have other employees fill out a log book when driving your car is just asking for trouble.
