Another Stolen Ride :-(

Hi Everyone,

My old man's AU2 75th Anniversary Futura was stolen last night. It was left on the nature strip / roadside as he usually does (difficult to manage cars with a single car width driveway). Inside was an Ericcson mobile phone and it had an etag. Not expecting anything, but if anyone sees a 75th Anniv Futura sedan dumped (not likely) or notices heaps of parts on offer somewhere - please let me know. If anyone has any leads of any description, I'm also thinking of a reward for anyone's assistance. Anywho, don't really want to go into anymore detail - bottom line, it's gone --> could have been teenage joy riders (after all, it is the school hols) or it could be a pro - I honestly don't know. Opportunist is the key word here I guess :-(

- Steve

Sorry to hear the news mate. Even sader that it happened to another fellow fordforumer. Hope the car is found soon.

Yeah, it's something that induces a severe reality check IMHO. It sure is sad, especially when it's more than just a car at times. My old man isn't exactly the car enthusiast as I am, but he looked after it and didn't abuse it. It's also the personal inconvenience and the hassle of insurance and the whole lot. It would just be easier if she's found somewhere hopefully not trashed. Anyway, I'm probably sounding the optimist, but hey it's early days - so we'll see what happens =\

Thanks Guys,
Steve

Sorry to hear that mate. Do you think that teenage joyriders would be able to crack the security of an AUII? I would imagine they would go for an easier target. Either way I hope it all works out for you and your Dad in the end.

Since I am the last home of a night 9 times out of 10 I have to park in the driveway while my parents cars occupy the garage. I am always terrified that I will wake up one night to the sound of someone starting my car and driving away.
