If you are after performance work in Brisbane contact these guys, im in the process of doing the website now, and yes that VY SS on the home page is gone as soon as i get a picture of a BA XR8 on the dyno. The website will be updated shortly with greater information.
I know some of the forums members have had Bob do work for them before, and i think his service has been classed as A1.
I enquired about installing a vortec on my xr8. After talking about the install for a bout 20 mins i asked what the install cost would be drive in drive out.
He said close to $15,000, my jaw hit the ground and at first i was not sure he was he was joking or not. He assured me that this was the price. Considering this is a bolt on item and the engine is not touched in any way i think it is very expensive quote. I am not sure of the price of a v2 s/charger but i would think it would be around 5-6 grand.Correct me if i am wrong. So i decided to can that idea for the time being.
I then spoke to Rob herrod at length at the ford gmh show in Brissy, not mentioning any names i told him of the price, then he quoted me drive in and out of between 8 or 9 grand. Now that was the figure i had in my head.
By the way Rob Herrod is one of the most professional people i have met in the industry, not only in the way he runs his buisiness, but also in his egerness to please even tyre kickers. I am a engine machinist by trade but i make no mention of this fact when i speak to people in this field. It's the only way sort out the one's that are full of shit and the one's who aren't
I will be ordering a xr6t instead. Probably better putting the cah towards that than mod the xr8.
This is just my experience only. I know of many that have had great service from his workshop.

ALso my friend at uni has a Mini with a race engine in it and Bob didn't want to work on it because the engine bay wasn't tidy enough.
But the bastard looks like he does a massve business. But I won't ever go there again, and I will tell people my experience with him as well.
There are reasons for not doing older run down cars, because they just arent viable when things start to go wrong with other components within the engine. Bob rathers newer cars like EL onwards as you dont have too many problems with them. Btw his pricing is very competitive as the members of the QLD Tickford Club would allready know.
He told me that I might get 160kw out of my engine with $1300 exhaust, $1400 uni chip and $600 cam shaft. Plus a K&N.
I know I can get 190kw from a $600 exhaust, $350 camshaft and K&N plus $300 fitting and dyno tuning.
In my opinion he is probably better suited to newer cars, because he isn't good enough to work on older cars, even if the engine is brand new like my mates mini.
Either way, he is probably excellent - just not for me, maybe if I buy an XR6T in a year or two he may prove useful to me, but only if he treats me like a customer and not a competitor.

Sounds like youve obviously had a run in with him over something, but ultimately who else in Brisbane can do the same job?
Anyone with access to a Dyno - Ross at RACE knows a mob in Capalaba who can do it for me. And his most expensive exhaust cast $900 and he is a specialist. The major difference is that Bob can give you a unichip, but I don't think they are worth it for a Falcon, maybe for a V8 worked, HSV, BA T or V8 or anything that is actually a sports car (not family car with too big an engine).

Just wondering what the dyno tuning is going to do for you if you don't fork out for a unichip or EEC-tuner etc? There's pleanty of guys on here with cams and extr/exhausts on 4L's and i doubt any of them could really claim to have 190kw from it..
