Hi guys,

Has anyone dealt with these guys in Cheltenham? I have to take my car there tomorrow to get assessed for my insurance claim on the acid damage to the paint. The local repairer for RACV in Werribee said it would need a full repray(incase its under the paint and it might spread more) and that the job was too big for him, so RACV are sending me to these guys. This is my first ever claim and im curious as to whether they will likely go all out and respray the whole car or if they will only respray the damaged panels and leave the rest (only 2 panels without damage). Also if there are chips/door marks/scratches on those other panels without the acid damage will they fix them while they are at it or will i end up with a 95% reprayed car but 2 panels with original scratched and slightly faded paint? Might be dumb questions but ive never made a claim before and even though i work in insurance i have no idea about the claims type of things.

cant help you out with any experiences from those guys

but if they were going to respray everything except 2 panels under the claim, then if i were you i would be forking out the little bit extra from my own pocket to get the whole lot done at once. That way there will be no difference between panels, and you get the whole car looking schmick and ready for all the mods you have planned

Yeah that is the other preferred option if things go that way mate. That way the paint will be shmicko (TM) and i can eventually get my orange repray after i have done everything else

well if you want to change the colour maybe you could cut a deal with the panel beater to do the repairs in the new colour, and you fix him up with the extra cash...

my cousin did that with his EF. He wasnt happy with the colour, and had a bingle that required the front and left hand side of the car to be resprayed. He told the panel shop that he had wanted to change the colour anyway, so he paid some extra cash (to get the rest of the car done, and for the paint because it was a little bit dearer than std.) and they repainted the entire car for him in the new colour!

might be worth a shot if you have the cash to pay for the extras...
