anyone know of any jobs going around them?

i've just found out at work that i can't apply for my job, since i am employed on casual basis, and there is already someone who is going to replace me in january! BASTARDS!!!

this means i'll be out of work in about 2 months. so can anyone recommend a place in sydney that might be taking on people for office jobs, preferrably in the automotive industry but i'm not too fussy... desparate would be more like it!

plus, to make things more interesting, my mum's most likely being made redundant as of tomorrow! this is seriously bad... this is going to jeopardise all future mods i've planned for the car...

Sorry to hear that Nick. Have you had a look in the Gazette? You may be able to pick up a job from it mate.

no way chucky...
i don't want to work for these bastards. they stabbed the 5 of us in the back, and i refuse to work for them even if it means registering for the dole *shudder*

mum finished her job this morning, but she might have something lined up next year if all goes well.

sometimes you win, most of the time you lose...

You might be able to do something about it, like relieve the pricks of some money if it's an unfair dismissal. Just because you're casual doesn't mean you can always be dismissed when they feel like it. Go to
http://www.lawlink.nsw.gov.au/ir.nsf/pages/unfair1
and click on the link to Dept. of Industrial Relations, which deals with casuals.

Also contact Community Legal Centres Group, tel 02 9318 2355 for the name of a free legal centre that covers unfair dismissals.

Act NOW because there might be very short and strict time limits running against you.

If there's five of you it might be worth combining.

Good luck!

All depends on what was written in your employment contract..
