Well I asked my wife of 13 years for a divorce today. We have been separated for nearly a year now.

We still get on well and I would count her as a good friend so she was fine about a divorce. She actually suggested the website where you can apply for one online.

I refuse to watch shows like ACA and Today tonight so though I know there is a site, I don't know the address.

Does anyone know what it is and has anyone applied for one online?

Jamie, if one of you is on a lower wage, you can get Legal Aid to do the whole lot for you for FREE!

Oh, and congrats on an amicable split. I am in the same boat but have been through the divorce bit.

Thanks for that, it's exactly what I was after.

It will be 12 months separation in November so I'll fill out the details then.

I like the idea of legal aid doing it for free. Maybe I should get her to apply for the divorce as she makes less than I do.

We are lucky that we never had children and never bought a house. Thinking about it, that was probably half the problem. As I was in the Navy before we met and spent majority of my time away at sea, we never got around to having kids.

Theres a quicker & easier way to do this & it wont cost the fee that the website wants.

As there is no children (doesnt really matter as Im doing it this way) you can go to the Federal Court & get the forms to fill in. They are easy as to understand and its a lot cheaper, no need for laywers or con artists.

Heres a link to the Federal Court website where they have the forms & fees for it ..... theres no cheaper nor easier way to go about it .... trust me .... I would have found it
