AP Makes His First Kill

VX Clubsport R8 255 LS1. Bye bye. He got a jump on me but into second gear and see ya later. Not that much in it though (remembering that even 30-40kW can sometimes mean only a couple or a few car lengths).

You have to admire these LS1s. It had a stock exhaust so I guess it's a hollow victory (since exhaust is usually the first mod eh?)

Good stuff AP, good to see the hard work, money and all with the car has paid off.

I'm sure you'll be able to nail a GTS 300 no worries.

I am going to have to learn the art of traffic light drags again when I get my ute back. First target is my mates 253/5spd WB ute with 9 inch diff. Only mods to his engine are small Holley and gas cam. My car -> XB ute with XR6 and big jetted Webber, extractors, LSD, 5spd, coming soon FF sticker! Also my car has 235 rear treads and his has cheese cutter standards.
Last time I dragged him I was in a stock Datto 1200 Coupe and he was in a Hilux. He beat me off the lights as it was pissing rain and I span the wheels upto 3rd gear:s2:

So what sort of technique is involved with a good launch? I mean besides just dumping the bloody clutch and flooring the go pedal.

Yeah, they sound pretty average Pete,
By the sound it made, could you tell if it had Hoover Headers or Elecrolux Extractors??

P.S.
Did you make any progress with your heat soak problems?

P.P.S.
New sticker for you "HSV, I just beat one!"

Nah. I thought I had a little bit of room to fit a spacer until I saw that the TB is rubbing on the underside of the bonnet. Bugger!
