G'day guys, my mates and i are plannig a trip to the GP next year and i was wondering if anyone could give me the names of any appartment buildings close to the Albert Park circuit? Doesnt necessarily have to be across the road but close to town as well?
I want to book within the next week cos it seems places are filling fast.
St kilda just about any thing in it will be 10 minutes walk away also dont forget about the trams depending on your ticket and gate acess a tram stop wont be to far away if not right outside the gate if you are in a grandstand on/near pit sraight the tram stop is just out side the gate
word of warning though the trams are crowded so try walking i stayed at my brothers apartment in St Kilda last time the F1 was there caught tram there the first day (thursday free ride due to F1 ticket) caught it back had to wait about 10 mins for a tram just missed one packed like sardines i only had to go 2 stops
caught tram there again meet my brother after he finished work around lunch time at the end of the day went to catch tram my brother said we will walk got back to his house in 10 mins take 5 off that due to people walking towards us and having to double back
next 2 days walked there and back using a smaller gate but since we had grandstand passes we could go anywhere we wanted people with genral admission passes couldnt go to certain areas like where all the tightly clad girls are

Cheers
I've got someone looking into it at the moment, this will be my 3rd time at the gp, its an excellent event. Just bought my tickets for the Fangio stand today.
Tripper, take a breath mate. You could kill yourself. :s6:
I haven't been to the GP yet...do you guys recommend it?
Sorry english isnt my strong point.
Its a must do event, a few words of advice for those who havent been before, take your own hearing protection, they are bloody loud and they charge for ear plugs. also take and use sunscreen its a long day out in the sun, once again you can buy it there but its a rip off , a cuople of bucks for a small satachel of it, take your own. Also buy a cheap plastic rain coat, the type you can buy at discount stores, as they charge around $5 for one on site compared to the $2 at the most in a discount shop. Food is expensive, merchindise is expensive, beer/drinks are expensive.
Also take a camera as you can get nice and close to the V8 supercars, not to mention the eyecandy if you have a grandstand pass.

hey fordy....I was lucky enough to score a room with a friend whos dad was in the trading post rally. Anyway we were in the Carlton Crest. It is right next to the track, if you are atleast on floor five you will have a top view. If you get a map of the track I could show you what corner it is near...its just after the chicane on the back "straight".
I had so much fun, but even though we could see almost everything we still went down near the track...not quite the same behind some glass. But it was awesome.
