hey everyone, i want to get a panel beating or spray painting apprenticeship, ive been looking for about 2 months, had a couple of interviews but only with places who are thinking of putting an apprentice on and they only say "call back next week"
ive tried the websites like job search etc but they only help you if you are un employed, which i am not
i need somehting in the eastern suburbs of melbourne, prefferbly around the lilydale/ringwood/boxhill area but i spose i cant be too picky at the moment
if anyone has heard of anything going around these areas can you please reply to this post?
thanks in advance!

Ring them all up in person better still drive on over & ask.
If you cant find anything mate go to tafe & do what ever courses you can find in that field. Once finished try them all again.
I think tafe does pre apprenticeships..
GoodLuck mate

I asked about a mechanic's apprenticeship a few weeks ago, most people want the tafe pre-apprenticeship course. Through my searchings on the net I have found sweet FA info about them. My careers guy from my old school said they run them at Morabbin TAFE and Richmond, gotta call them when I get back from the army.
thanks for the info but id rather not go into the defence force, and from reading that info id have to go to adelaide, id rather stay in melbourne......but thanks anyway!!
svo347....yeah ive been ringing a few up over the months but i seem to get no where, i think i *may* have an apprenticeship...not too sure because theguy just wont give me a straight answer so im gonna follow this one up after easter and if i get no where ill have to contact some employment agencies(sp?) because i have just left my job to look for an apprenticeship

No, it's a life of being told what to do from 8-4 and the odd days you go out bush. I would of thought you would of known this, as from your comment it would seem you've been in the defence force.
Stay away from Apprenticeships, the pay you get is down right slave labour. Even when you finish, the jobs still dont pay much unless your some sort of expert specialist.
Go join the ADF, not only do you get tax free pay, you get a shitload of benefits like full medical, housing etc
As for getting told what to do all the time, your going to get that as an apprentice anyway, probably worse!
