Driving to work today and spotted this car that looked like an XR8 but without the twin lights. as I drove past the back of it I noticed on the right hand side of the boot and sticker/badge of ESP.

Why dont we hear about these, I never even knew that an ESP existed at all until about 8 months ago.

An ESP is a Falcon S pack with IRS, LSD and ABS. I guessing you don't hear about them because they cost nearly as much as a XR6 HP.

Geez...I thought LSD and ABS were standard these days.

I wonder why anyone would buy one, if they are so close to an XR6 HP.

Who would buy one? Well I did as a company car in late 99.

Had a limit of ~ 36k and just managed to squeeze it in with a fleet discount. It had LSD, ABS, IRS, sports suspension and seats, alloys and leather steering wheel. Auto unfortunately :( but hey it was a company car.

Car had excellent dynamics with the IRS being particularly useful with the crap streets out my way. Only gripes I had were that the standard tyres fitted to it (Monzas) were totally crap for traction, especially in the wet. Also the fuel economy was worse than my Sprint! running between 15-16.5l/100km on average.

Oh yeah the headlights absoulutely rock on AUs!
