Dead right, just seems the AU negatives were proclaimed from the good.
The impressive feature i found with the AU is the way it handled, it was soo much tighter than the previous EF-EL and thats comparing both with live axles. I've also noticed which jacking the car that the AU plateform is alot more stiffer than the E's.
The engine revved much smoother as well, the Inline 6 is happy to rev in the 4000-5000rpm mark without fuss. And to boot Ford have finally sorted the head gasket issue.
Even the V8, the AU was the first model that the XR8 was convincingly quicker than the XR6.

Hit the nail on the head...about time someone printed an article that didnt completely turn people off buying an AU. I know there will be an AU in my driveway within the next 5 years ( unless of course I get a higher paying job or win the lottery ) than it will be a BA of some discription

I too have been waiting for someone to get this point across.
The AU is a good car, and deserves to be recognised as one. Although it annoys me that only now, with a new model out, that the AU is recieving praise. (Some at least)
I have just put a deposit down on an AU and if all things go well will have it for by the weekend :) making this my second Ford since getting my P's in February 2000.
It will be sad to see the EF go, although I am sure that, despite what the public says, I will more than enjoy the unique style of car that the AU is.
I am an owner of a AU "grandfather liquid silver soft appendage, half dozen, 2 cylinders short of an 8 with 15" rims" Fairmont. I am proud of it and enjoy driving it despite what other people think of it. <-AP

Hahahahaha
Chris, you got a damn fine car there. Top interior to boot. If you want to totally get rid of the grandfather image a set of 17's would solve that.
