roll AU3 XR8 or BA XR6

I am thinking of upgrading from my AU1 XR8 cobra (NZ) manual, and am not sure which is the best alternative.
AU3 XR8, fully optioned or a BA XR6 as they are similar priced.
What would the forums consensus be?

I would say BA XR6.. Given the AU1 is quite old compared to a BA, and the XR6 isnt that far behind on power really. Manual BA XR6 would be quite quick, with loads more refinement, handling, some thing much nicer looks, better interior etc..

Same dillema here, have been offered an AUIII blueprint xr8 new for the same money as the BA xr6 with 18's and premium audio, I'll be going with the BA.

Get the 220 KW v8 rather than the 6. (ps. I drive a 6)

Wheels: 17" Series 1 XR
Exhaust: VCT with no resonators & 3" mandrel from mufflers back, dump pipe
Pacemaker headers (Waste of money).
Air Intake: T-Series, K&N Filter.
Brakes: Calipers painted red, DBA slotted rotors & Lucas pads.
Windows: Tinted.
Gearstick: Shortened.
Fuel: Dual Fuel.
Dyno: 143 rwKw (Dynodynamics - shootout mode).
Heathcote: 15.87 @ 89.1 Mph.

Guys imo go with the AUXR8S3, I did and not one regret. I bought last Sept and could have ordered the BA but the deal was to good to refuse and I'll wait for BA 2 or 3........
I certainly wouldn't consider after being in 8's going to a 1/2 doz as in XR8NZ case....

mate hard choice.

the AU3 probably would be much of an upgrade from your current drive they would be both 220 KW's right? nicer styling on the AU3 than the AU1, love than mesh in the rear bar on the AU3.

On the other the BA XR6 is a new car with arsome styling, but course will come has with a drop in KW's.

If your anything like me if you settled for the XR6 you would feel a little ripped off for about 6 and half grand more you could have added a turbo plus a few more standard features over the XR6.

And the sound of the v8 is arsome. if the AU3 had low klms + fully body kit id definely go the AU3.

No contest - AUIII XR8 by a loooooooong way - just upgrade the exhaust and you will NEVER look back (except to see the BA a long way back).
