I had a look at a AU3 XR8 at a Brisbane Ford Dealer the other day with the serious intention of making a purchase. The vehicle had a few scratch marks on the front end and I was amazed that the dealer was aking 50k for it. Made an offer of 40 cash and the salesman walked away saying its 50k firm. Thought thats all they were when new, a BA6T is looking better every day.
Yes PINS I was in brisbane the other day and looked at a Few, found one at BB FORD and offered them 38 grand, they would have taken it except I thought more about it. Do you mind if i ask whether it was Q Ford at Springwood?
I guess had you gone around and asked last August when the runout sale was on, they would have settled the account, done the finance and insurance on the day and given you an extended 5 yr warranty, 3yr free NRMA roadside assist and $1000 bucks worth of free petrol.
Do you get the $2002 cash back deal like we have in NSW?

Well not on the one i was looking at. They offered that 2002 cash back on an 54000 AU3 Fairmont Ghia with sunroof, body kit, spoiler and tickford wheels. I thought it was a bit rich considering a BA GHIA stock was cheaper.
Surely Ford has some percentage of Margin they can afford to lose to get rid of these cars, because if they stay around for much longer they are only going to depreciate more. Anwyays whos wants to pay full bucks for a car which is pretty much 6 months old now, esspecially when their is a new model out.
Originally posted by #00 Lowndes My ford dealer in Melton has a brand new AUIII XR8 in silver and they want $54,000 inc ORC.
WTF? Who would buy that then? What's so special about it? Does it have every option under sun? I would expect even a brand new AU3 XR8 to be no more than about 45k since the new one is out now.

At Jarvis Ford in Adelaide you can get a AU3, XR8's for $43k drive-a-way with the lot. They will even deliver them interstate I think. Only thing is they only have very limited stock.
I bet you in six to 18 months when you trade one of these in they'll say Oh its not worth much a new model is out now and it has the old engine..See them depreciate when the XR's start selling!!!And the BA ll comes out!!!
