I had the chance tonight to see how my 156.5rwkW translated real world. I decided on a bit of a cruise toight, and whilst heading up the highway towards St Marys, the familiar twin lights appeared in my rear vision mirror. It was a white XR8, AU Series 1. He spent a lot of time hanging on my arse, even with lane changes presumably checking out the new kit.
As luck would have it, we got ahead of the traffic and stopped as some lights - well, I stopped, he was still a little behind so he had rolling momentum. Lights went green, and he punched the throttle, so I responded.
The result?
One surprised XR8 owner - my plates give away what XR variant I own (guess he won't know if it's HP or VCT) so he knew his extra two cylinders were useless!
Ok, so mines modified. Both cars were manual. But a win is a win.

Good stuff Mark, AU1 XR8's are pretty fast too. Definitly got a fast 6 cylinder there.
Goes to show theres power to be had in these Inline 6's.
Reading about races makes me weep at the moment. My baby isn't running right. Can't wait till it's running properly.

With at least 12 more rwkw and a lighter car you should have won. And I would still like to know how your car picked up that much. That is a bloody good exhaust you have
It is a mystery. I can only think that it's a mixture of a factory special (one of those engines that gets built a little better than the others) coupled with a great Herrod exhaust system. I fully admit to being a little under-skilled in the drag arena, so I'm sure theres still more potential to be unleashed. It is certainly a lot of fun.
