AUIII XR6HP Vs AUIII Futura ????

Just a silly question, but what is the difference between the AU3 models XR6HP, and the Futura.
Apart from the obvious Motor mods, and Exterior styling ????
The reason why I am asking this question is the Futura is more Expensive than the XR6HP.

The only feature that the futura has that the XR6 doesnt is rear power windows ?????

And, the answer to the obvious question is
AU3 Futura $36,538 (Auto)
AU3 XR6HP $36,490 (Auto)
The XR6 Manual is even cheaper than this.
So my question is why buy the Futura ???? - Or is there something obvious that I am missing here ???

Interesting point you raised there, I always assumed that the Futura as cheaper. If this is the case i'd for the XR6 anyday, manual, 164kw engine, sports suspension.

I guess though once insurance will be factored in the Futura will be cheaper.

The futura has a softer ride than the XR. Friendlier on insurance too!

Never thought of comparing the two before, but I guess some people may be easily swayed either way considering the pricing. In my opinion ,if I was looking for an XR6, I wouldn't look at the Futura.

i looked at the sr falcon when we were buying, and refused to give up my ef xr6 for something slower. ended up with a good deal and convinced the missus that we needed an xr6. didnt know the futura was in the same price range...didnt even consider one to be honest. so now i just wait for the xr to be built, then popped on a train to WA and i get the thing. the wait is murder :(

I would think that the XRs better resale would compensate for the higher insurance costs

It's the same as the SR, for only a couple of hundred dollars more you can get a XR6 HP. Yet on paper there isn't a great deal of difference. You would think that they wouldn't be able to sell the SR as everyone in that price range would pick the XR.

Insurance isn't a great deal different either, when I traded the AU S on the XR6 my insurence only went up around $200 a year.

While waiting for my XR6 to be delivered I was given a AU Fairmont to drive. Beautiful car, lovely ride and very comfortable, no way would I give up the XR

I guess it all comes down to personal preference.

As if you would buy an XR6 HP stock!

LSD would be a definite starter. Unless you plan on spending heaps on aftermarket stereo gear, the premium sound is ace. Bodykit? Momo wheel/knob? Sunroof?? could easily be a $45K+ car by the time you're done.

You can option up a Futura too, but not as good.
