AUS: Explorer Recall

The following recall was announced for US customers over one month ago and has just been announced by Ford Australia.

Defect details: In some of the affected vehicles, a bolt that attaches the seat recliner mechanism to the driver seat back frame may fracture.
There have been customer reports of the driver's side seat upper recliner to seat back frame attachment bolt fracturing on certain vehicles. Some customers have reported "looseness" and "noise" in the mechanism. There is the potential of the bolt fracturing completely, forcing the seat to fully recline unexpectedly, and the driver could potentially lose contact with the steering wheel and/or foot pedals.

Consumer action: Known owners will be contacted by mail. For further information, contact any authorised Ford Dealer or Ford's Customer Relationship centre on toll free 1800 333 306.

Model: UP through US Explorer

Campaign Number: SRCC281/A

Re: AUS: Explorer Recall

Yes, I like the new ones also with that sweet 4.6 V8 engine. Alot better than the last model, but I'm still a little concerned about the build quality from USA.

Design for every step.
