Now we all know how annoying some of those ricers can be but I think its about time I vent my frustration at another party of the automotive world.
I love utes, have nothing against them. But when country (and probably city) BUMPKINS put all that crap all over them like massive bullbars, spotlights, stickers that say some crap about rum and those bloody arials that would be much better suited to a HumVee in Iraq.....it just pisses me off.
And not to mention the exhausts on those things!! Or lack of! They sound so crap!!
Oh and the mud flaps that cover the entire width of the car!!
If it wasn't for hat fact that thye probably have a gun of some description with them I would flip everyone of them off!!
To me these people make ricers look good!
It used ot be mainly Older Holdens, but I see more BOGAN VS's everyday. And Fords aren't immune to this either.
Right I think i'm done. Anyone else feel this way?

And the fact that one nearly hit me the other day while driving on the wrong side of the road on a seperated entrance to uni has nothing to do with this......

Depends mate, some people actually have a use for big bullbars, spotties, and full-width mudflaps.
True, it has become a tradition almost to the point of rice, specially with the spotties; only shooters need them.
Bull bars, however: essential. There are roos and things aroung up here you know... Also escaped stock (i.e. BULLS ), tax collectors, etc.
And the mudflaps are just common sense. You should try driving behind any car sometime on an unsealed road - crap flies EVERYWHERE! Without those flaps, you'll soon have no windscreen, headlights, etc.
One last thing: Personally, having attended numerous B&S balls: These stickers are as much a mark of pride as FordForums stickers - you will find last year's on the back of my Falcon (even tho I have no bullbar...) Try going to a B&S sometime, if a night out on the piss is what you like. $80 gets you all you can drink, and last year 2,000 people turned up despite the rain - many of them female and many of them single. These balls are as close to a social life as many farmers come, due to isolation: personally I hate redneck music as much as the next man, and therefore stay out of the pavilion where the band is.
Heh.
Well, that turned into a bit of a rant, apologies for that, but I feel it needed saying :)

EB MONGROL- yeah i agree that alot of people have a need for most of the things i was talking about...but good damn the majority go WAY over board.
Most of the Bogan utes I see have there rear windscreens (if you can call them that) absolutley covered in stickers and there is no way they could see out thte back. And its not just the windows that get a work over, the rear quaters are usually covered including the tailgate...covering your car in stickers doesn't constitute in pride to me.
There is a group of utes around here that drive around in a pack of four...i kid you not. One of them is a bloody subaru brumby for christs sake. And their always up peoples a&%s!
As for the B&S Balls and music...whatever floats ya boat

a friend of mine drives one of them... it's a shocker
ALL FOR RUM AND RUM FOR ALL
airbrushed across the tailgate
VB stickers, cattle skull, bullbar that weighs more than my car, landing lights across the sport bar... so classy!
that said, i have spotties and a bullbar (fairly low-key) and i think they're great... prevents nasty accidents like that VK/Roo pic that appeared here a few weeks ago

I've always wondered about this, why the yokels dress their utes up to look like miniature trucks. I can understand the necessity for bullbars, mudflaps and cb radios considering the remote areas some of them live in.
but why.......
Bullbars that are far too big and heavy for the ute? (must do wonders for the handling)
The do-it-yourself sideskirts. Just pop rivet an angled piece of sheetmetal to the bottom of your sill panel. Of all the things the yokels do this one just gets me, it looks just so crappy. Can anyone explain that one to me.
Country version of rice? Could be on to something there, FoMoCo4eva.

LOL is the brumby white? one of my mates has a jacked up subaru brumby and he drives like a maniac. A bloke I work with has all that bullshit cat flaps and spottys on an XG Ute. Another bloke I know has all those stickers on the back windscreen of his toyota hilux. Hasnt got the flaps but has a huge bullbar. Lives out country way, shoots rabbits and cuts thier heads off and ties them on the front of his bullbar.
