Turbos will be expensive, but the standard Forte should still be ok. Insurance is hiked primarily by it's theft rates, and costs to fix accident danmage. Falcons have also been the king of large cars in the low-cost damage repair department (always topped the NRMA stats) so that's a bonus.

who gave you a quote for $1800. I'm paying $800 for my 95 EF2 XR6 on Rating 2 and I'm only 21. If I had of got an EF gli or Futura I would have only been paying about $500. I know an AUII Forte is worth more than my EF, but $1800 is a bit over the top for a standard car. I would have paid less for a Liberty RS turbo insured in my name, I think it was about $1700.

Im 21 now 20 when I got my AUIII XR8 and I have 50% no clame
But still got quotes of $7000 - $8000 / year even thou I had a XR6 before this with and I made no clams..
But I ended up going with our friends at Ford Insure
They were the cheapest and get this NO HOLD TIME to call em :s5 :s5 :s5
I think I pay $3800 / Year still a shit load but better then $7000
And its agreed value on the car which I em very happy with as I don’t do many kays in it (just a few around the track)
:s3
Im paying $1500 a year thru SGIO on my AU2 forte and im 27.Im happy with this as afew years back i had a blemish on my record.Im not looking foward to my dream of having a blower or hairdryer under the bonnet though when it comes time to find out about insurance.
my dad has a au2 xr6 vct and he pays $1200 a year. AAMI and GIO wouldn't insure anyone under 25 at all. So he went with NRMA.....I'm not listed on the policy. (i'm 19, and had my fair share of 'incidents')
For fun about 2 years ago i rang up the NRMA and asked them for a quote for me on a au1 xr8 (at this stage i had had no infringements)....guess what they quoted me?
$12758.00 - yep, you read correctly - talk about being raped by insurance companies!!!
