Thumbs up BA Impressions

Since this is my first post here, I am sorry if I shouldnt be creating a new thread for this but I finally got to sit in the new BA today. There was the 3 models... standard, Ghia and the XR6 and from pictures I wasnt expecting anything from this. This is one time I am glad to admit I am wrong as this is the best looking set of cars I have ever had the pleasure of looking at. I have to say that the XR6 was the best (well who would have thought ) in the dark blue.

The first thing I noticed was the grill... plastic and rather featureless but perfectly suited to the car. The back of the cars seemed much higher than the AU and was more easily recognisable. The seating is amazing on all the models with the cloth seats being far more comfortable than I have ever felt. Then I went to the leather... now this is comfort :D. The sunroof was something I didnt know they were putting on the lineup but it made the car feel so open and roomy that it is something I would really want as standard.

When it came to the dash, I really didnt take that much notice as it all seemed perfect. The XR6 had small displays which was rather annoying but suited the look. The dash otherwise looked great and had the usual 200km/h max speed. Personally I loved the fact that all the controls were located on the steering wheel and the small size of the whell (very small) was great. Lacking features of the XR6 are the analogue clock in the centre which looked tacky and the fact that the handbrake to the left of the driver was too long and looked wrong. I did like the gear shifter (automatic) with its simple style but I did not like the door locks which were too small and oval shaped for my tastes.

Overall I have to say that the pictures dont do anything for the BA. The "solid" look of the car is great and the headlights are great and seemed clear if that makes sense. I have to say that for the price these cars are worth every dollar. Cant wait to drive one now.
