BA Sales - strong

Saw the Ford released BA sales figures last night and although I was asked not to mention the exact figures, I can say that the BA is selling nearly double the previous AU figures.

Now that puts the sales square into VX territory, they don't know the VY figures as the VFacts figures aren't due until the end of the month.

Orders have also been taken for the GT @ Nuford, who will become an FPV distributor. The sales boys are very happy :)

Thats an encouraging start and it appears that not only do Ford have a great product, but there seems to be a renewed enthusiasm, I am sure this comes from Uncle Geoff.

I think our favourite oval is back in the game

Doubt it.... Ford still cant build as many cars as Holden. Ford can build about 412 a day and Holden as much as 620.

Not going to happen I dont think.

I don't know how many days a week Ford operate the assembly lines, but @ 412 a day and say 20 days a month thats 8240 Falcons, I don't think Commodore sales have ever exceeded this?
If we say 30 days a month, thats 12,360 cars.

Now regardless of assembly line capacity, theroetically, if more people buy the Falcon than the Commodore we could easily see 2:1 in favour of the Falcon, realistically I don't think that will happen and I know Ford arn't expecting miracles.

I think Ford would be very happy if they could match Commodore sales, we have to remember that Holden have built up a tremendous following in Aus in recent years and that is not going to be eroded overnight...

You be suprised how quickly the "public" can turn on the one they love. The crowd mind can be very fickle at times.

But what I hate... and when I say hate I mean LOATHE(!!!!) is that I have friends that say they love Holden just becuase thats what other people think. And it gets even worse cause most of the other poeple have the exact same opinion as the affore mentioned people. ARGHHHH!!!!!!!

When it comes down to it they know nothing about anything and just follow the crowd mind... why can't these people make up their minds on their own and read up on what is ACTUAL! Anybody that tells me Holden in better than Ford... and can't back it up with reasoning, gets a slap in the jaws from me. Verbally that is!

*breathes heavily* I guess thats enough of a rant for the moment

Ford's primary aims have nothing to do with Holden sales. It's all about getting Ford Aus out of the red, into the black and ensuring a future for local production. I think those aims are going to be achieved easily. Matching Holden sales won't happen with just a new Falcon and the Focus. Theres an entire range to consider. Matching Falcon sales vs Commodore would be an achievement considering the success of the Commodore, but overtaking them would be not in their list of aims - but I would assume it would be in their wishlist. :s3
