I picked up an XT Stationwagon last week, whilst overall it is a great car the first thing I noticed when sitting in the car is the height of the drivers seat. Has anyone else noticed this. I have adjusted the seat as low as it can go and still feel I am sitting too high.

If you ask me the best thing about the car for some reason i find the steering wheel comes to mind. I just like the feal of it.

As a side note as soon as I got it home from the dealers, I had neighbours who I don't normally talk to coming up and asking about the car. Ford could advertise that they are building community spirit with the amount of people in my driveway looking at the car.

They are great to drive. My mate brought one round from work. Had some fun in that :s6: I did notice the height in the drivers seat was a bit high. I didn't find a problem with it really but then I am not a really tall driver. (about 5'11")

They are a fantastic car to drive. Although punting hard through corners, there was noticeable bodyroll.

I had probs with my AU2 XR8 - same thing. Always had to duck down to look under the sun visor. Painful!

I hadn't realy noticed it but someone else noticed I was sitting a bit high in mine. I'm 6'2". I had the same thing as MD72 when I took my XR to see the in laws. people in the court that I had never spoken to before were asking all about it and what options it had and we were all talking for about an hour and a half. If this all turns into sales then were set for the future. The misses is getting alot of looks in it when she drives it and now if she sees some one checking out the car she leaves the lights smoking em up. She tells me this and then says shes not normally a lead foot, Ha!

Except in the "How low can you drivers seat of XW-Y's" era

I remeber reading somewhere that the BA will have lower seats to give the impression of sitting in a Falcon rather than on... What ever came of that?

I dunno for me the driving position in the AU is fine much much better than the EF-EL. In the E Series you definitly sat high in relation to the whole car. Guess i got use to it as i learnt in an EF.

For me when i sit in a car like a Mitsu Verada it feels too coocoonish for my liking.

i think you get used to the high seating. like in my car the seats are low and the window line quite high, i'm 6 foot tall and the window line is just above my shoulder. i never used to have a problem driving my dads AU but now when i go from mine to the AU it feels very upright and comfortable and everything is way to far away, esp gear lever and handbrake and i feel more vunerable sitting quite high above the window line. but when i sat in a BA it was much better than the AU and closer to my car for comfort
