Ford will show its new BA Falcon V8 Supercar racecar at Bathurst – but the car won't race there, or anywhere else, until next year.
The car will also be on Ford's stand at the Sydney Motor Show, from October 17.

Ford has so far released only a sketch of the car but says it will be a developmental platfrom from which final technical specifications will be made ahead of its race debut next year.

"The knowledge gained from this development program will be shared by all Ford teams ahead of the 2003 season," Ford says.

At Bathurst, the car will be in the Ford Merchandise Hall in Harris Park.

The paint scheme was penned by Ford Design Studio's Nick Hogios, who also did the now-famous "Green-Eyed Monster" 00 Motorsport Falcon Supercar of Craig Lowndes.

The BA racecar will be eligible for competition from the start of next year, with its first scheduled race being at the Australian Grand Prix meeting at Melbourne's Albert Park, March 7-9.

In supercar form, the BA looks great. I think this has inspired me have our company designer make one in Photoshop for a tease.

WoW.!. that thing looks MEAN , even though lowndes car looks great , i dont think i have seen a car looking that menacing for a long while.

I can just imagine a bunch of these things running around bathurst , taking the fight right to HRT's front door.

Yeah that thing looks mint. It reminds me of Bathurst '72... mmm.

That thing looks very very menacing..

I hope they make the back of them look really good so Skaife has a pretty picture to look at all raceday :s6:
