If you're like me then you're probably a little narked at Ford's attitude to the BA wagon this time around. So what would you like to have seen Ford have done here instead?
As has been mentioned before, once you make the transition to a wagon you find yourself coming back for more - and yet with Ford's lousy attitude it seems the wagon may be on the endangered list. What do you think would make it sell better? - And lastly, would you buy it?
I would like to see an FPV built GT Wagon hehe.
S/C 5.4L, Full carbon fibre interior, Ghia treatment, 2 piece tailgate, 6 high performance leaf springs, 1000W Alpine sound system, 18" wheels and a subtle bodykit. LOL like that'll happen....
I just found it a shame that they don't offer the wagon in either V8 or Fairmont flavours. Maybe they just didn't sell many of them, but I honestly don't see how hard it would be to make those options available aswell.
Maybe someone could shed some light on why it would be.

There's nothin' like 290Kw of Sledge Hammer wrapped in a plush leather glove! :evl:
Even a 285Kw Y2 Senator Signature can't take it down... and they've had half a year to study it!
Add AWD and turn it into a soft-roader, the potential for extra seating that can be configured any which way so as not to loose the versatility, make it visually appealing (ie. not a people mover) and a bit more manouverable (ie, shoter wheelbase with less overhangs). All the while making sure that it stays affordable, has good performance and dynamics.
Oh, hang on. They're doing that.
Bring on Raptor, E265 or whatever you are going to call it.
I'll buy one!
Wagon should have / COULD have been built with independent arse end easy enough. XR8 upgrade would have been a cinch as well. These cross road things are ok, but I know I'd much rather buy a conventional wagon. Would look trick too, any Falcon wagon tidied up, lowered and employing a V8 is grouse!!
edit: All wheel drive is overated and unecessary in most normal applications. The Longreach Ute with the special diff centre proves that!!

My XF 3 on the tree ute is ALWAYS stuck in third......
If they had tried to fit the ind. rear end to the wagon it would have been a nightmare. They would have had to have a sub-frame that bolted on where the l/springs attach to. this is cause they still need the l/springs for load capacity.
Ford isn't going to drop their reputation in load capacity just to make a sports wagon out of the Falcon.
I mean come on... they didn't even do it to their aussie coupe!
PS. Thats a ute for those that didn't ge that last bit.

Hmm ford should perhaps introduce a niche model release called the XR8 Estate with the Boss 260kw engine, manual option and 18inch wheels, with a subtle spoiler.
One damn quick wagon i say especially without the added weight of the control blade suspension.
