Looking at specs for BA XR6n/a, kerb weight is 1694kg measured up against my AUXR6 1518kg. Yeah, BA has got 10kw more than my VCT but is a lot heavier. (You're talking 176kg) I'd like to see a performance comparison. Any thoughts. Dave http://discussions.FordForums.com/im...cons/icon3.gif
I know u won't like me saying this, but the XR6 VCT with 172kw is actually slower in a straight line compared with the old HP 164kw motor. I can't remember exact figures, but if i am right, i think the new XR6 is about .5 - 1.0 second faster than the old HP. It also could be different with yours because u might have done mods.

That is a pointless comparison. The BA will beat it and it rides better, looks better, handles better. It also has a more integreted body kit and much better looking wheels. A pointless comparison indeed!!

Thanks XR6turbo, yeah I realise the HP is faster in the straight line, I'm not getting precious about my old VCT performance. Just noticed the weight gain in the BA that's all.
AU XR6 VCT weighs 1650Kg (9.59kg:kw)
AU XR6 HP weighs 1530Kg (9.32kg:kw)
BA XR6 N/A weighs 1710kg (9.39kg:kw)
Id say the AU HP and BA would be close, with the VCT a close 3rd.

Nah i'd imagine a manual BA XR6 N/A would be slightly quicker once the revs climb compared to the AU XR6 HP. What hurts the BA XR6 is the initial take off i reckon because of the weight.
Yes it's definitly true that the VCT XR6's were slightly slower than the HP's, but they made up for it in teh handling with there sweet sweet IRS.
But all in all it's not exactly all over red rover for the superceeded AU's.
