I heard from someone who I guess should know (works in a Sydney Ford Dealer) that they received pricing advice on the XR8 last week.

Is this true, and if so, can anyone confirm that the starting price is as he said approx. $53,500. Also, will the final spec include such things as 18" wheels and premium sound, which were originally listed as options on all XR's...

For a $10K price hike over the XR6T, I think I'd be expecting those things as standard...


I hope I'm not breaking any embargo here, but if the dealers know, the secret is well and truely out.

I was told by a salesman that he reckons they will be around 53grand including dealer delivery charges. I honestly would take the XR6T. I don't really think the Xr8 will be quicker as it will be heavier. Can anyone tell me if the Xr8 will have better brakes than the Xr6T?

I Think we're gonna hear different prices from different people.
I asked a dealer a while ago how much will the BA XR8 will cost and he said around $58,000 drive away....god, I hope he's way off.

As I said, I'm not saying I'm correct, merely asking if anyone has something in the way of confirmation or not.

I really don't think that the figure is that ridiculous, as I expected the XR8 to be slightly more expensive that the SS (it's a better car, so why shouldn't they charge a premium) and when you consider that my N/A XR6 cost a bit over $46K with options and on-road costs...

If $53,500 is close to accurate, $58K drive away wouldn't end up being too far off!

I've been told the XR8 will be around $57- 58K on road as well.

Cobra,

The XR8 will be substantially quicker than the XR6T. That's one of the reasons why the 6 is only running low boost. As far as I'm aware the brakes will be the same, but don't hold me to that.
