Today's Drive highlighted that the XR seen up to now is the XR6.

Basing my assumptions on the S / SS relationship, I predict that the XR8 will have :

o 18" mags
o 50 series 225's (maybe 235's)
o darkened headlight inserts
o larger / dual rear spoiler
o lower ground clearance (helped along by the extra weight of the v8)
o more aggresive stance
o colour coded interior / instrumentation panel
o more supportive / sportier seating
o improved exhaust (possibly dual - on same side) for better sound & performance
o bigger brakes / stiffer suspension

That should make up the $10,000 premium that should exist.

The rest of the bodywork should remain the same.

The XR6 broke your heart. The XR8 will tear out your still beating heart & have it for dinner with a side order of fries.

A big mean ****-off touring car spoiler wouldnt be unwelcome, as well as a body kit with some of that metal mesh on the back (like the XR Rebel etc). :-D

Maybe it's being left over for the T-Series.

I hope we see the return of the rear bi-spoiler. Those things looked killer on the AU1 XRs.

The bi-plane spoiler was great, but it should certainly be an OPTION for buyers (no matter what XR variant/special edition they're getting).

nope...AUI XR was droopy, The Grille was feral and the rear wing was ridiculous...

AUII on the other hand....Lovely!

I agree it should be there as an option, would help in personalizing each XR and creating a bit of variation out on the roads.

I preferred AUII/III XRs also, but I liked the idea of a Bi-plane spoiler, at least it was something different!!!
