Back from Our Vacation.

Made it back yesterday around 4:00 p.m., AZ time. It was a very nice roadtrip as expected.

We toured from the Phoenix area to San Francisco, staying a few days. Then we went up coastal hwy, 101, to Florence, OR (Thanks for the suggestion DanB), switching over to the interstate and into Portland. Then it was from Portland into Seattle, with a quick trip on the side to Mt. Saint Helens and a few days later another quick trip into Canada. We stayed three days in Seattle before we were on the road again and drove to Bend, OR. and stayed there for one day (this is one place I could had stayed longer - nice small town). Then it was on to smoky Reno for a three day stay. While we were there we visited Lake Tahoe, and back in Reno I had the opportunity to visit the National Automobile Museum. Then it was on to Las Vegas, for one day, cruising the blvd and hitting the casinos. We left Vegas a few dollars poorer and made it back home after driving 4234 miles the last two weeks and one day (5/9 to 5/24).

I could go into paticulars about our trip but it would end up being a small novel. Some of it is fairly funny and some is very noteworthy (I know I still have an A.P.B. by some outer fringe road construction flag lady in the state of Washington).

I'm just glad I was able to go and do this city to city (or town) tour, because it gave me time to stop and reflect about our other driving vacations we done in the past. There is a better than adverage chance we been to your area. It's a vast country well worth seeing and well worth meeting it's people. Our next road vacation, around 5 years, will be the greater Northeast. Should be fun!

Thumbs up

Welcome back! Glad the trip went well and you had a good time.

I'm glad you liked Hwy 101 - it's a great drive, and I really like the redwoods and area between Eureka and Crescent City. I'm in dire need of a vacation, and hope to get back up there pretty soon.
