Hey all question for you.
Now we all know your a dick if you put Tickford badges on a non Tickford car but what about FPV?
Now before you answer consider the logic behind asking this question.
Tickford is a car company and a brand name so if you don't have the parts then you don't get the badge simple.
However Ford performance vechicles isn't really a name its just an acronym for a Ford performance car. So my logic is if you have a performance Ford (my defintion of this would be a complete car with brake/suspension/engine mods) I wouldn't take offence to someone fitting FPV badges to there Ford.
What do you think?

I would never buy a Gemini so umm no.
But in all seriousness. I don't have a problem with people putting HSV on to a Holden Commie because it's a good acronym for a performance holden and much easier to do than make your own badge.

Guys I've seen Tickford badges on a VB. Pfft - idiots. By memory, I think it added 90 - 200 rwkW.
But, I think that Putting FPV badges on a car is the same thing as Tickford badges.

FPV stands for "Ford Performance Vehicles" not "a Ford Performance Vehicle". FPV is a specific company with a specific product, just a slightly generic name. The badge is the Logo of that company designed to identify and promote its product.
Putting the FPV badge on a non FPV vehicle is a wank. It dont matter if its a hot falcon or a beaten-up 120Y. Neither is a FPV product if it hasnt come from FPV.
If you sell your car with FPV (or tickford) badges and its not a genuine FPV product, could this be false advertising, or downright deception? Its a bit like putting Levi tags on cheap jeans.

I agree jemmex. I have had several people (fellow Ford nuts too I might add) when I'm going to put a FPV sticker on the back window of my XR6T. I told them I had no intention of doing it because it's not a FPV. These same Ford nuts laugh and carry on when they see a non-HSV Commodore with a HSV sticker so I wonder about their logic!
