has anyone priced the insurance on the barra's, especially the XR6T? I haven't and was just wondering. I hope the insurance isn't going to makr the XR6T and up unafordable. Anyone know of a good insurance company for XR's and the like. Some places I have rung in the past will not touch a car if it's an xr. Especially if its getting a bit old.

I think Ford Insure can give you a quote on a barra.

Apparently they have a special offer of $100 off Barra and Focus?

1800 11 22 60 or your Dealer.

I called Ford Insure for a quote on my current AUII XR6 VCT. The only insure for agreed value and not market value. They were about $200 - $300 over what I pay currently. So ring around for the best deal.

Yes you could take a market value policy instead of agreed value.

And you could consider insuring for a value far less than what the car is worth as this will cost you less to insure as well.

In the end it depends on what you want to happen when you have a claim - get enough money back to replace your car or enough for something lesser?

Ford Insure only do agree value. They will not quote on market value

Yes - that's right - but if you did an agreed value price on the value of your car less $5,000 and another market value quote you would probably find they would be around the same cost and in turn the same sort of payout if you had a write off.

Depends if you want insurance or some level of self insurance.

isn't the reason you have a new car is because you like it. what would be the point of under insuring your car unless you had the cash at home to replace it? insurance costs will put me of a XR8 or XRTurbo

I haven't even found out if my insurance will insure a 22 year old with a BA XR8 :dead:. If they won't i might have to go with a XT 5.4.
