Thanks for that. They are using the optus network too aren't they. What are they like? BCS seem to be the ones to go for with the phone sid eof things, miles ahead of what I have seen anywhere else and like you say support a Ford sponsor.

BTW is that a real Ford badge on that mouse on your avator?

I am on BCS, got one of the 2 for 1 deals (2 phones 1 contract).

Have had no problems with them.

Yes they are on the optus Network.

Optus gives good call rates, and their plans are very attractive. But their coverage and network capacity is woeful. Especially in the country where you might as well leave the phone at home ,even with the duplex car kits. I am always lending my phone to friends etc who need to make calls. Telstra is way, way better and I've been to Vodafone too.

Just another pointer - the type of phone makes a HUGE difference with reception too! There is a new glass mount aerial due out in the next week or two from RFI Industries for car kits - great performance!

Have never had any problem with call coverage.

But then I spend most of my time in the surburban area and major country centres.

The only place I have had problems is Winton , but this appears to be more the phone (Nokia 3210). Other peaople on optus using other handsets can get coverage in the same location at the same time that I can't.

As long as it works in the City and at the Racetrack then I am happy.

The reason I asked is that I am thinking of getting another phone and the deals on the mainland are that far ahead of what is available down here it is not funny. The BCS deal seems to be the best I can find but the plan they advertise is not an optus plan that i can find so I am guessing it is a plan unique to BCS with no roleover and different phone call charges???????!
