Best of luck to our Servicemen/women

Having an uncle in the Army, an uncle in the Air Force and a young cousin in the Navy, I’ve been very interested in the events leading up to the coming conflict.

My Navy cousin has already done 1˝ deployments to the gulf (came home sick half way through the second), and related to me the freakiness of the situation the last time he was here.

I’d like to say at this point that I am a supporter of this war, and blame both Bill Clinton and the UN for its occurrence. Had the USA shown any true political leadership in the foreign policy arena during Bill’s 8 year tenure, Saddam would already be disarmed or gone, and we wouldn’t have secret commercial hand-shake deals with the French, Germans and Russians dictating UN policy.

But I digress.

I know that at least one forum member – Jamie’s XR6 – is leaving in the next few weeks with the Navy for the Gulf. Possibly other members are already there, or you know of family and/or friends that are going or have gone.

To those people in particular, and all our servicemen and servicewomen in general, I’d like to wish you good luck, safe passage, and Godspeed for your deployment and journey home.

I’d like to join those that have said regardless of your views on the policy that has brought us to this point, the men and women who make up our armed forces, and who are currently going into harms’ way, both need and deserve our support.

Again, best wishes to them all.

Cheers
Jason

Although I am 51% against going to war, I support our troops 110%.

As shown in other recent incidents, our servicemen & women have shown that they are up there with the world’s elite.

I would also like to wish our troops a quick and safe return home to their loved ones.

To their families, I can not begin to know what you are currently going through. However, my thoughts are with you.

Darren

I have to agree with the sentiments here. I would like to wish the troops goodluck, godspeed and may you return unharmed.

This strikes a cord with me. Family and friends are going. 3 of my good friends here are already on their way over. My cousin and my wifes 2 cousins are there now.

Godspeed to all that have to go over.

Two of my ex's cousins are in the army.....they are really only babies in age & have both already been to Timor (the youngest twice) that was bad enough but this is more serious stuff.

Knowing that we have our forums members going is like having family there as well.

I hate the idea of war but accept the reality of why we will be there & support our guys & gals 110%

Keep safe guys'n'gals

I am 100% against this or any war. It will only bring death and distruction, and it won't fix a thing.

However I wish all the servicemen and women all the best and pray all will come home alive and well.
