We may have been knocked off by Norway in the Best country to live contest, but I tell you what, we live in the best Ford country in the world. Forget the USA and the UK don't rate a mention. If you want a great looking, perfoming and quality Ford product we are it:D

Yep and we are second only to Sweden in the "quality of life and most wealthy country" results. This takes into account the average wage, the education level, and the life expectancy or something along those lines.

I've also lived in the UK and been back a few times, I just can't get used to the amount of cars on the road. I love the fact that out here I can still find a remote piece of tarmac and have a blast without interference from other cars. Though Australian fauna is a bit of a worry. I have not ventured up to the NT yet, but where else in the world can you drive as fast as you like, again with very little traffic. Yep, this is definately the best place in the world, which ever way you look at it. (and we can play rugby better than anybody else aswell!!)
I have read several times about the imported cars sometimes struggling with our type of road surfaces. I assume the European roads are smoother in the most part than ours?
I haven't been outside Australia so I don't know.

Generally roads are quite good, though they do get very narrow out in the countryside. You don't get roads with soft edges like ours, so the ability to drive with 2 wheels on the dirt while the other 2 are on tarmac is a must for Aussie cars. But take it from me, Tassie roads would be some of the best drives in the world.
