just wondering where everyones favorite spots to go cruising / thrill seeking on are (any where in oz)
the great ocean road will be a popular one im thinking, but on a recent trip to adelaide I happened to stumble across one of the roads the local SA boys probably like to have some fun on - the road up to "the eagle on the hill".
well what an awesome piece of road! Brilliant corners (most of them have a good camber on them too), 2 lanes either way, smooth as silk & a fantastic view to top it off! Only problem I had was that there was a constable sitting in a parking bay half way up...luckily i had the handbrake with me and she was feeling sick so I was taking it easy
anyway, what are all your favorite roads? my votes go to the ocean road in victoria, and the eagle on the hill in s.a. :s6:

Have to agree with you there on the Great Ocean Rd mate, its a bloody pearler. Good road, twists, straights and scenery.
Also the black spur near healesville is good, as around the Kinglake area. Good twisties and scenery seem to be the order for me
If its km/hr your after mosy on up to the NT.... dont worry about any cops catching you speeding up there

Cork Screw rd in the Adelaide Hills. The name says it all. No recomended speed signs, no painted white lines, very very tight rd. Easily the best rd in Australia, IMO.
There is a narrow road winding up along the side of a hill near the Whittlesea golf course which is nothing short of visually spectacular - I highly recommend it.
The climb up Arthurs seat in SE vic is pretty hairy, coming down even worse.
Dandenongs are also and awesome cruise.

Short run down Mitchells pass at Glenbrook, one way road so no worries about lane width.
Hawksbury road from Shaws creek bridge to the lookout at the top. Careful though as the burnout boys dropped oil on the road a few weeks ago. Long drop if you go through the safety fence.
Berowa Waters road from Berowa to Dural - nice and tight hairpins.
Bells Line Road, Richmond to Bell
Wisemans Ferry run from cherrybrook to wisemans ferry.
Not sure of the name but the road from Wollongong to robinson in the southern highlands is a good one too.
And errr m4 for autobahn quality. Pity about the 110kmh though .....
Qld Sunshine coast based - Maroochy to Noosa via David Low way is pretty good, so's the usual hinterland road run thru montville etc
There are some great roads listed there dave_au. I do the Berowra Waters Roads to Dural, Berowra to Gosford ones regularly. I have also done the Sunshine Coast drive you mentioned. There are also some fantastic roads up that way.
Although my favourite drive includes some of the roads you mentioned. Start with the Berowra to Gosford road (Old Pacific Hwy). Then Gosford to Wisemans Ferry. Then Wisemans Ferry to Cherrybrook. Takes about 2 - 3 hours I guess but its a brilliant drive. All with decent speed limits and little traffic as well.
