What do you think the best small car is under 20k but over 12k? Taking into consideration, ergonomic design, power, luxury, economy and value for money.
Please state why and if you have had past experience with that particular model.
Since the Laser has been dead for 2 years and the Focus is its replacement, I would think it might. Focus CL RRP AU$20,660
Fiesta will fit in but not till April in OZ.

Just a note on the Focus - you still have to add dealer delivery chargers plus GST, plus any options you want, so I don't consider it a sub 20k car, coz you won't get one for that.
We just bought a 2001 KQ Laser with 60 thou on the clock for $13,999, with 3 months factory warranty left, then another 3 as part of the sale. It's a great car to drive, cheap to insure, one of the best cars we could have bought. Blueoval - you'd know this already, from my posts at fordlaser! LOL
And who voted for the Getz? You should be shot!
Cheers...... Tim

Yes Tim I familiar now with your purchase. lol. I didnt realise you bought it for that price though. Thats an excellent buy Tim. Was that price including on road costs?
What are the factory specs if you dont mind me asking?
They are advertising the Focus for $18990 with air at the moment which is a pretty good deal & ad free insurance if you finance through Ford Credit
Another one who falls for advertising! That is still not on the road (it excludes dealer, delivery and GST), and you'd have to be desparate to go thru the interest rates that Ford Credit offer. You save more by finding yourself decent finance first (as far as the free insurance goes). I am not saying the Focus is bad, I bought one and love it, just beware the price ends up higher than advertising has you think.
Blueoval - the Laser was second hand, obviously, so it was on the road but you pay change over, which was about 500 bucks - give or take a hundred. I just had to hunt around Newcastle/Sydney/Wollongong for it, found it in Wollonong at a Toyota dealership.
Oops, missed the factory specs: The LXi Laser that I bought is a pretty basic car, just has central locking, air con, pwr steer, excellent sound system. Not as much power as the Focus (but it's a smaller engine), but the car is a happy FWD manual that is enjoyable to drive.
It's benefits over the Focus is the seating - you actually feel like you are sitting in it, as opposed to on it.
Hope that answers your questions. Tim!
