Ford Festiva 1994-2000 ? $4500-$8000
Not long after the release of the "jellybean" Festiva, Ford Australia stopped deliveries of its bubble car (built in Korea by Kia) and sent its production people to the factory to sort out several quality issues. The resulting quality improvement makes a later Festiva a better used proposition than other Korean models of the era but careful scrutiny still will be needed.
A stiff $16,000-plus launch price led early buyers to omit air-conditioning and power steering. These early non-power steering models are plentiful and not so popular, hence prices from $4500.
The Trio S 1.5 introduced in February 1997 is the one to have but prices of the good ones start at $8000-plus. Because of their ready market, a rebirthed Festiva is a real possibility.
