well i posted abit of info on this subject awhile ago, now it seems All systems are Go!!!
The Police have a new camera that scans the numberplates of vehicles & can instantly alert the officers if that particular car or owner has lost his/her license, any fines owed to the department etc etc etc.
After watching the news, 1000 vehicles were scanned, 500 odd people stopped & 250 infringement notices give to drivers.
Best I go out & pay my speeding fine...

Damn, seems to be getting a little over the top. So what happens if the car your driving belongs to an owner who has lost there license but needs you to drive for them.

You'll get pulled over & will have to explain, whilst you are there what a perfect time to check out the cars etc..

If this is true, then the cops are not doing anything they have not already been doing. You hear highway checks all the time from general duties on the radios, and Highway have their own PDA/CFT system.

Yeah I don't see the difference from calling in a rego check, which they have been doing for ages.

It's taking it to another level, how many plates do you think it can scan/check in the time it takes to call in 1 rego. The cops will just sit there waiting for it to tell them to pull someone over.

It means that the people with things as little as outstanding fines will be rooted out and made to pay. Of the motorists with warrants out on them im sure this would represent the majority.
Its the next level of the financial abuse faced by motorists.

Step 1: Fine the shit out motorists
Step 2: Hunt down the ones who resist

Face it. Were just cattle for the state. MOOO!

Whats wrong with people being made to pay their fines? I think its a bit out there too.. but it might free up police to do other things (doubt it), but it might.
