The Bitter taste

of failure.... :( 15 hours of working on my Instrument Cluster, culminating into 5 minutes of teary eyed bashing of my car... That's right kids, it doesnt look good! :'( I will see what it's like tomorow in day light, but at this stage, it's not looking good... Will also see what I can do to fix it... :)

Oohh, man that's harsh. I hope you can do something to fix it, because that teaser ya showed us was one of the coolest things I have seen in a while. :)

Good luck with trying to sort it out

Re: instrument cluster

Thinking up such a great concept, trying the different alternatives- that's terrific stuff! Even if the result at the moment isn't what your after, i think it's great what your doing.

Re: instrument cluster

Hey PPLs,

I been fiddling around with globe changing in the EA. I have used Silicone sleaves (as I feel using sleaves is the cheapest and most effective way). Trust me, it is NOT worth it coz of the yellow everywhere. The only place it works is in the ciggie lighter illumination, and it looks REEEAAAALLLL sweet.

Im gunna find out whether an XG dash fits in the EA and if feasible, im gunna try blue lightin it.

Re: instrument cluster

well i did mine red and green.. u cant really see it in the piks due to the flash and all..what i did was do the whole dash red, the clock also red.. and i removed the front face of the stereo...its a kenwood tape deck and it used to light up clear on the screen and the buttons where green.. i managed to change the clear to a red also thanks to the silicone sleeves although for the green they used tiny leds exaclty like the ones in mobile phones so i jus left them..and did the t bar light, ciggie tray and lighter green to match... i also removed the dimmer from the clock so the stereo and clock are the same brightness at night... it all looks really good now..all colours match!!!! not a sight of shitty orange!!! red and green all the way!

Re: wa??

silicone sleeves are like "plastic sleeves which fit over a light bulb which makes it change its colour.. they come in blue red green and orange in various sizes for different light bulbs.. u can get them from any spare parts outlet such as auto barn, repco. etc.. they cost somthing like $3 for a pack of 5
