hey fellas,
i keep getting spammed by all these different places (eg. @nationwidedebtassistancecenter.com) and whenever i get one it is from smavidd@blahblahwhatever.com. is there a way of blocking all emails starting with smavidd@? so far iv got about 15 of them blocked and thier still coming!

you can do it in the full version of Microslosh Outlook under the many customisation features? Are you with Optusnet? Their has been alot of spam there recently and im at a loss to explain why.

nah im not with optus, we're with argonaut but we've been getting alot of spam also (well my parents have). ill give tucows a try cos im dont use outlook express.

what are you using??? Outlook? If so i have a program that would filter out the spam.

this is not the recommended method, but it makes me feel good.

i send one reply (not a great idea) telling them to remove me. no swearing, just short and sweet. if i get another spam from the same place, i go to rotten.com and copy / paste the picture of a man with an axe in his head. this is better than attaching because they get no option with the copy / paste but to see the picture. i then include text telling them to remove me or the next picture will be worse...and i can find pictures that would make most people vomit

like i said, not the best method, but i like it

if using outlook go to tools/rules

create a rule with the info of smavidd@

leave the domain part off.

Set it to send those to the trash automatically or even perm delete.

Simple.

There is a site called www.lavasoft.nu that runs a program called ad-aware. Its free and it searches for the cookies that impregnate you server and deletes them

I found them after I was getting spammed by looking at some US sites for American Muscle cars ( my wife thought I was looking for porn)

It works very well and stops problems for ever.
