OK I was at calder friday night, and I was lucky enough to get a pit pass. So there I was right next to the launch area, all content and having a good time.
That was untill all these old school falcons, torana's, comys etc started revving the shyte of of there cars with NO exhausts!
Now dont get me wrong, I LUURVE the sound of a good V8. But these tossers would just rev the crap out of there cars while they were waiting. I cant stand ricers, but these guys are WORSE!
Since when do you gain power from taking the exhaust completely off? I thought a LITTLE back pressure was a good thing.
So to those V8 drivers that were there friday night..stuff ya! Your cars might go hard and look tough but they sound like CRAP without the exhaust!
Not even the turbo VL boys acted like that, thats how bad they were.

At first I thought this was a joke, but you are serious FoMoCo4eva.
Well fancy your night being ruined by a lot of noisey V8's with their exhausts dropped. Who would have thought that would happen at a dragracing meet????
Old V8's always pickup power with no exhaust. Newer V'8's tend to loose power because the oxy sensor gets different reading with no exhaust and fudges the fuel/ignition because its confused.
I'd suggest you never, ever go to a doorslammer/top fuel meet if you can't handle open headers on a street V8. They are about 10x louder and don't have anything even resembling a muffler.
I was at calder last night, and yeah it can be annoying at times, if youre trying to talk to someone, but it can also be exciting too.
The roar of the 8's, the mystical dispersion of burnout smoke as you look up to the stars, the smell of fuel, the cars, the power. Its magic, ya gotta love it.
Im all for it. And yeah, its an off street drag strip, so get used to it, or bring some earplugs.
i just wanna know where the word "bogans" comes into this story..
honestly i dont think they were the one with the problem
i luv the noise..
