i'm looking at buying a car thats unreg. how much will it cost for a blue slip, how much am i looking at to get it on he road if there is nothing wrong with it>>>??
Hmm . . . I don't think blue's are that bad, certainly less than $100 ( altho more than a pink I would expect ).
In addition to this, you need to register the thing, which means green slip ( can be nasty, prolly between $300-$500 ), plus actual rego, which is prolly $237 - $340 )...
Blue slips can be tough tho, so everything does need to be kosher . . .
Less than 3 months out of rego I thought only needs a pink slip ??? if that helps.
Well I think about $80 for a blue slip, $35 for a pink, then 350 or so (shop around) for a green slip, then 280 for rego, plus about 45 i think for new plates, plus the stamp duty on the sale, then you will have to pay for your insurance.
Do a REVS check as well, if its stolen you will be the loser.

Green slip - is the compulsory third party insurance, used to be paid straight to road authority, but got privatised in NSW, and prices went down, then sky rocketed upwards.
Blue slip - car goes over the pits and gets picked on as to road worthy condition.
Pink Slip - Annual road worthy check, simple check that the car seems to be ok, then you can register for another year if it passes.
So every year in NSW, you pass and pay for a pink slip, then buy a green slip, take it all to the RTA (roads and traffic authority) and pay them more money for road tax etc, and then you are registered for another year .......... sound slike fun hey
