There has been a Big uproar from some Churches here in Perth about Kwinana holding a Burnout comp on Good Friday.
I can't see anything wrong with it myself. They are claiming it is an insult to the meaning of easter.
I don't know about you but give me the option of sitting in a church listening to sum s@#t (sorry to all churchies out there) or watching Gary Myers go head to head with Peter Gray's Comaro - I know where I will be (and about 20 thousand other people)
Is it really worth the headlines it is getting - and are these events really that evil???
What's it to them what people want to do on Good Friday, i got mates going to the farm for a shoot, there are really better things they can waste their time on.
My point exactly Psycho Chicken. Its a 4 day weekend, why not enjoy the day, they should be happy its a planned safe event and not out on the backstreets! Young and old worshipping the "God of Tyer SMoke"
I spent 2 yrs a representative of my church, and spent some time in kwinana myself, i can see how people there would get anoyed by it - in WA (especially Kwinana) you hear it about every 5 seconds and does get annoying, (slight exaggeration) however, I would never speak on behalf of my church saying that its a "sin" as such, perhaps they should untie it from religion and just speak on behalf of themselves as citizens. But doing donuts in anyones car park wont do much good either... Just use common sense
